review: passion planner
Our first review could have no better subject than the Passion Planner! These planners are stuffed full of motivation and guidance on focusing on life goals. They are an excellent source to use alongside your journal!
Passion Planners started as Kickstarter campaign by our fellow San Diegan Angelia Trinidad. Angelia developed the planners after spending time in that floating stage so many of us experience after graduating college. She wanted to create a product for others who feel lost when making life choices. Her goal is to help people follow their passions through love, gratitude, and self-motivation, and she reaches that goal with the Passion Planner.
Passion Planners come in two sizes: Classic (8.5″ x 11″) and Compact (5.5″ x 8.5″). There are multiple options to purchase: a standard January – December planner with weeks starting on Sunday, an academic planner that runs from August – August, two different undated versions with weeks starting on Monday or Sunday, and finally some special edition planners that come in beautiful colors and designs with different choices for their layout. Check out all the varieties here! The planner that we have is the 2016 Compact Planner.
These planners feel like butter in your hand! The covers are made with faux leather and the paper inside is 100% recycled and a beautiful ivory color. We have yet to have a pen bleed through the page! They come with a ribbon to mark your place, as well as an elastic to keep the planner securely closed while you are not using it.
While the planner is definitely structured, there are still multiple places to personalize, including blank pages, gridded pages, and a blank area in each week to write whatever you choose. Each month has a monthly review, as well as both mid-year and end-of-year check ins. There is also an awesome pocket on the back cover in which you can keep important and necessary items. The purple tabs you see in the photos are our own addition to mark the current month and the goals we have outlined on the blank pages.
Overall, this planner is amazing. So far, the only downside that we have come across is that the space to write next to a time is pretty small. However, we have worked around this by using blocks of time, as you see in the photos. We also write pretty big, so if you have smaller handwriting, you probably wouldn’t even notice. Also remember that we have the compact planner, so this might not be an issue in the classic version.
We sincerely encourage you to check out passionplanner.com, read Angelia’s story for yourself, see the ways in which she is giving back to the world, and pick up your own planner!
